Who We Are

At WhirliDogs Café, we believe in the power of possibility. Our mission is to create meaningful employment and training opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing the hands-on experience, skills, and confidence that come from a first job. Through real-world training and supportive coaching, our teammates develop the workplace and social skills needed to achieve greater independence and success. Our ultimate goal is to help teammates transition into community-based employment and become active, valued contributors in the workforce.

Whirlidogs Academy

Participants will learn and practice essential food safety and sanitation standards required by the Health Department for preparing food for the public. Instruction is based on the ServSafe Food Handler curriculum and includes daily, hands-on meal preparation to reinforce key food safety and kitchen skills.

Students are required to complete a certification exam upon successful completion of the course. Testing accommodations are available as needed.

Note: Attendance at a WhirliDog’s Academy does not guarantee that the applicant will be able to work
at the WhirliDogs Café.
